AGPPort transfers
Málaga Airport to the cruise port
~11 km, ~20 minutes: every way to get from AGP to your ship — taxi, train, and private transfers compared.
Málaga is one of the Mediterranean’s busiest cruise ports, and a lot of passengers fly into AGP to join their ship. The port is close — about 11 km east of the airport — but with cruise luggage and a fixed sailing time, the transfer deserves more planning than a normal city-centre hop.
Options compared
| Option | Price (2026) | Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taxi | Roughly €25–30 | ~20 min | Metered; rank outside T3 arrivals. Fine for 1–2 people with normal luggage |
| Private transfer | ~€35 per car (fixed) | ~20 min | Driver waits in arrivals; best for groups, families and heavy cruise luggage |
| Train C1 + walk/taxi | ~€1.80 + short taxi | ~35–45 min | C1 to Málaga Centro-Alameda, then ~1.5 km to the port — cheapest, least comfortable with bags |
| Port shuttle | ~€2 one way | — | Runs in cruise season from the pier area toward the city every ~15–20 min; useful at the port end, not from the airport |
Which cruise terminal?
Málaga’s cruise ships use the dedicated terminals on Muelle de Levante, on the seafront east of the historic centre. Your cruise line’s documents name the exact terminal and quay — check them, because the port complex is large and the walk from the port entrance to the gangway can be a long one with suitcases. Taxis and private transfers can usually drop you much closer to the terminal than public transport reaches.
Which should you pick?
- Private transfer for cruise passengers: fixed price, driver waiting in arrivals with a name board, and a car sized for your luggage. Worth it when the sailing clock is ticking.
- Taxi for light packers landing at a quiet hour — the metered fare for this short hop is reasonable.
- Train only if you’re travelling very light and pinching euros; hauling cruise cases 1.5 km from Alameda station is nobody’s idea of a holiday start.
