Hotels near Málaga Airport
No terminal hotel — but the coast’s densest hotel zones start six kilometres away.
Nobody stays at AGP — there’s no terminal hotel — but you barely have to leave: Torremolinos starts about six kilometres from the runway. Pick the area first, the hotel second: each stretch of this coast has a distinct personality.
Torremolinos · ≈6 km · 10–15 min from AGP
The closest resort to the airport — the Bajondillo and Carihuela strips have the densest hotel concentration this near the terminal. Lively, beachfront, and unbeatable for late arrivals and early departures.
- Seafront strip (Bajondillo–Carihuela) — The main hotel zone — search here for the widest choice, from budget high-rises to renovated four-stars.
- La Carihuela old fishing quarter — Quieter streets behind the promenade, fish restaurants, and smaller family-run hotels.
Benalmádena · ≈11 km · ~15 min from AGP
One stop further on the C1 train. The marina area is the postcard side; Arroyo de la Miel is the lived-in town behind it. Good all-round pick for families.
- Puerto Marina area — Hotels around the marina suit couples and first-timers who want restaurants and nightlife on foot.
- Arroyo de la Miel — Better value inland of the coast, a short walk or bus ride from the beach.
Fuengirola · ≈19–26 km · 20–35 min from AGP
The end of the C1 line (34 minutes) and the biggest town on this stretch — a long promenade, a proper high street, and Bioparc. Suits longer stays and self-caterers.
- Paseo Marítimo strip — The promenade hotels are the safe bet; Los Boliches at the eastern end is quieter and well connected by train.
Marbella · ≈39–50 km · 35–60 min from AGP
The upmarket end of the coast: the old town, the Golden Mile and Puerto Banús. No train — the Avanza coach takes about 45 minutes. Highest prices, highest polish.
- Old town and Golden Mile — The characterful core and the luxury seafront strip — book early in summer; this is the priciest zone.
Málaga city · ≈8–9 km · 15–20 min from AGP
Not a resort, but worth saying: the city is 12 minutes by train, and its boutique hotels beat the coast for food and culture. Ideal for short breaks and cruise extensions.
- Historic centre — Boutique hotels around the cathedral and the Atarazanas market — check train times back for early flights.
