The AGP terminals, explained

T3 for almost everything, T2 for Ryanair & easyJet check-in, T1 closed — which building your flight uses.

Málaga’s terminal map looks complicated until you learn the one rule: T3 does almost everything, T2 does Ryanair and easyJet check-in, and T1 does nothing — it has been closed since 2010. The two working terminals form a single connected complex, and every departing passenger passes through T3 security.

T3 — the main terminal

Opened in March 2010, T3 is the airport’s front door. All commercial arrivals come into T3 Level 0; the centralised security checkpoint is here; most check-in desks (of the airport’s 164) are here; and Pier D handles Schengen departures. If you only remember one terminal letter, make it T.

T2 — the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Terminal

T2’s public role is narrower: it hosts the check-in desks for Ryanair and easyJet, and Piers B and C for non-Schengen departures (including UK flights). Check in at T2, then walk through the connected complex — about 400 m — to the T3 security filter. There are no arrivals facilities in T2; everyone lands at T3.

Piers and gates

48 boarding gates, 26 with airbridges. Pier D (T3): Schengen traffic. Piers B and C (T2): non-Schengen traffic. Gate numbers are assigned late — often under an hour before departure — so there’s little point migrating early.

Terminal FAQ

How many terminals does Málaga Airport have?
Two working terminals — T3 (main) and T2 (Pablo Ruiz Picasso) — operating as one connected complex. A third building, T1, has been closed to the public since March 2010.
Do I check in at T2 or T3 at Málaga Airport?
At T3 for most airlines; at T2 if you fly Ryanair or easyJet. Everyone — whichever terminal they checked in at — clears the centralised security checkpoint in T3.
Which pier do I board from at AGP?
Pier D (in T3) serves Schengen flights; Piers B and C (in T2) serve non-Schengen flights, including the UK. Follow the signs after T3 security — the piers connect airside.
Where do arrivals come out at Málaga Airport?
All commercial arrivals come into T3, Level 0 — even if you departed via T2. There is no arrivals hall in T2.
Is Terminal 1 at Málaga Airport open?
No. T1 closed to the public in March 2010 and is earmarked for demolition under Aena’s long-term plan. Never go there — if directions send you to T1, head for T3.
