Málaga Airport lounges (AGP)

Quiet seats, WiFi, drinks and snacks airside — where the lounges are, what they cost, and how to get in.

Málaga isn’t a mega-hub, but it does have proper VIP lounges airside — and in summer, when the departures hall fills up, a lounge can be the difference between a stressful wait and a calm one. Here’s the practical picture: locations, hours, prices and access rules.

How to get in

  • Walk in and pay: around €40–45 per adult at the door or online in advance. Children under 5 are usually free.
  • Priority Pass: accepted at the Sala VIP (digital card works). You’ll need a same-day boarding pass; access from ~3 hours before departure, max stay ~3 hours.
  • Your bank card: many premium Visa and Mastercard credit cards include free lounge visits through Visa Airport Companion (powered by DragonPass) or Mastercard Traveler Pass (powered by LoungeKey). Enrol your card in the program’s app, and check that AGP’s Sala VIP is listed before counting on it — the number of free visits per year depends on your card.
  • Business / first class: included with most premium tickets — check with your airline.

What you get

Expect the standard package: comfortable seating away from the gate crowds, WiFi, soft drinks and snacks, beer and wine, newspapers and magazines, flight information screens and charging points. The main lounge also offers rest areas and meeting space; showers are not a guaranteed feature, so don’t count on one before a long-haul connection. Dress code is smart casual, and smoking (including vaping) is not allowed.

Is it worth it?

Do the maths on your wait. Two hours or more — routine at AGP in July and August, when security lines stretch — and the lounge costs about the same as airport food and drinks for two, with far better seating. Under an hour, or travelling hand-luggage-only on an off-peak flight, save your money. If you already hold Priority Pass, the decision makes itself: use it.

FAQs

Where is the VIP lounge at Málaga Airport?
The main VIP lounge (“Sala VIP”) sits airside in the T3 departures area, on the upper level near Gate D — after security and before passport control, per Priority Pass. Málaga splits departures into Schengen (D gates) and non-Schengen (C gates) areas, and lounge access follows that split, so check which area your flight leaves from. Layouts change over time, so follow the lounge signs after security.
How much does the AGP lounge cost?
Walk-in access is typically around €40–45 per adult when booked at the door or online in advance; children under 5 are usually admitted free. Prices move with the season and the operator, so treat this as a guideline and check the current price when you book.
Can I use Priority Pass at Málaga Airport?
Yes — the Sala VIP accepts Priority Pass (digital card accepted). You need a boarding pass for same-day travel, access is allowed from about 3 hours before your scheduled departure, and the maximum stay is around 3 hours. Smart-casual dress code applies.
Is there a lounge for non-Schengen flights?
Yes. The departures areas are split: Schengen flights (D gates) and non-Schengen flights (C gates) each have lounge access. The non-Schengen option (“Relax & Go”) has historically sat on the first floor of T2 between gates C30 and C31 with shorter hours (roughly 11:00–19:00). Confirm the current setup on the day, as operators and hours change.
Can I get into the lounge with my Visa or Mastercard?
Possibly — many premium Visa and Mastercard credit cards bundle free lounge visits via Visa Airport Companion (DragonPass) or Mastercard Traveler Pass (LoungeKey). Enrol your eligible card in the program’s app and check that Málaga’s Sala VIP appears in the lounge list before you travel; the number of free visits per year depends on your specific card and bank.
Is the lounge worth it at AGP?
It depends on your wait. With 2+ hours before departure — common in summer when security queues grow — the lounge buys you quiet seating, WiFi, drinks and snacks for roughly the price of two airport coffees and a sandwich. For a short hop with hand luggage only, it rarely pays off.
