London to Málaga Airport
The busiest AGP route — four London airports, ~2h45, and how to book it well.
London–Málaga is the heavyweight route of the Costa del Sol: four London airports, half a dozen airlines, and more summer seats than any other city pair at AGP. It’s also the route where smart booking saves the most money.
Airports and airlines
Gatwick has the deepest AGP schedule, Heathrow adds British Airways frequency, Luton is easyJet and Ryanair territory, and London City serves the route with BA. Across the four you’ll typically find Ryanair, easyJet, BA, Jet2, TUI Airways and Norwegian — but not all fly daily, and summer frequencies dwarf winter ones. If you can be flexible on airport, price all four: the same week can vary by a wide margin between them.
Flight time and what to expect
Plan on about 2h45 in the air. It’s short enough that seat comfort barely matters — buy water after security and you’re fine. On arrival you’ll go through the EES kiosks as a non-Schengen passenger into T3’s arrivals hall — have your passport ready and expect the process to take a few minutes per person at peak times.
Booking tips
Tuesday and Wednesday departures are usually cheapest; Friday and Sunday carry the weekend premium. Compare the total with bags — a “cheap” Ryanair fare plus two hold bags can exceed an easyJet or Jet2 fare that includes more. And check which London airport your return lands at if you booked outbound and inbound separately — mixed-airport itineraries strand people every summer.
