Dublin to Málaga Airport
Ireland’s Costa del Sol corridor — ~2h50, two airlines, honest booking advice.
Dublin–Málaga is one of the great Irish holiday corridors — decades of summer traffic between Ireland and the Costa del Sol, served by the two carriers that know the route best. It’s short, simple and fiercely competitive on price outside the school holidays.
Airlines and schedules
Ryanair and Aer Lingus share the route, with Ryanair usually offering more weekly frequencies. Summer brings near-daily departures; winter trims back but the link never closes — the Costa del Sol’s Irish property owners and long-stay visitors keep it alive all year.
Ryanair vs Aer Lingus on DUB–AGP
Ryanair wins on headline fare and frequency; Aer Lingus typically includes more in the base price (a larger cabin bag allowance and friendlier change terms on higher fares) and flies from Dublin’s T2. Once you add bags and seat selection to a Ryanair fare, the gap often narrows — price the whole trip, not the headline.
Arriving at AGP
After the ~2h50 flight you’ll clear EES kiosks and passport control as a non-Schengen arrival in T3, reclaim bags, and reach the arrivals hall. The Cercanías train to Fuengirola or a pre-booked transfer to Marbella and the western resorts are the usual onward moves — see the transfers guide.
